APRIL/ MAY –  JEWELRY/SILVERSMITHING - LEARN THE PROPER USE OF TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES WHICH ARE ESSENTIAL TO MAKING HANDCRAFTED STERLING SILVER JEWELRY WITH PROFESSIONAL RESULTS.  YOU WILL LEARN TO MANIPULATE VARIOUS FORMS  AND GAUGES OF SILVER WIRE AND FLAT SILVER, THE PROPER USE OF THE JEWELER’S SAW, FILES AND FORGING HAMMERS AS WELL AS CLEANING, SANDING AND POLISHING . YOU WILL SEE VARIOUS EXAMPLES OF THE TYPES OF SETTINGS WHICH CAN BE USED, AND YOU WILL MOST LIKELY SET A STONE BEFORE THE END OF THE CLASS.  THE COURSE IS TAUGHT THROUGH A SERIES OF DEMONSTRATIONS AND INSTRUCTION  AND EACH STUDENT WILL COMPLETE A NUMBER OF THEIR OWN PIECES. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DESIGN, BUILD AND FINISH YOUR OWN PIECES LIKE A PRO. Unbelievably beautiful and highly unusual this is handmade in the USA. This is another of Robert’s artwork pendants, I love this deep green, gray and white piece of stone. He obtained a number of these stones from a man who was a geologist, I have personally never seen such beautiful stones. This pendant is finished with a sophisticated sterling flap (reminiscent of a woman’s handbag) a wrap around the stone and a curly scroll. Very Nice !!  YOU WILL NOT SEE THESE TYPES OF PENDANTS ANYWHERE ELSE !!!

Made in the USA. These are sterling silver pendants made by teacher and artist Robert Jiorle, of Phillipsburg, New Jersey.  He starts with a slab of stone from which  he selects a portion  with the correct color, contrast, shapes & characteristics he wishes to use, he then proceeds by cutting the stone and polishing it.  He then designs the custom setting which will complete his composition and frame the finished artwork piece.
